Maggie was born in Kildare Ireland Seamus was born in Kansas The reason we decided to get Maggie from Ireland was that in Ireland They have VERY strict breeding laws and they have keep their Yorkies true to the breed. Yorkies and other small breed dogs have become enormously Popular in the USA And as with anything that becomes popular, the demand grows and usually the quality suffers. Yorkies are no different, sadly the breed HAS suffered along with most other toy breeds. It seems that these toy dogs are being bred to satisfy the demand for ridiculously small dogs, Such as 1-2 lbs when full grown! If you notice it is usually famous, wealthy people carrying these tiny creatures, well there is a reason for that after you pay the initial fee for the puppy which is usually an outrageous amount, you'd better have an outrageous amount of money left in your bank account because you are going to need it for the vet bill's that come with these tiny puppies. One of the highest risks for a yorkie of any size is hypoglycemia, the risk is even higher for those tiny so called "tea cups" if you don't know what hypoglycemia is you can email me and I will be happy to send you the information.

Don't get me wrong, I know that the main attraction to Yorkies and other toy breeds is the fact that they are small. But please do not purchase a puppy that as an adult will be under 3 lbs, as tempting as it may be you will be setting yourself up almost certain heartbreak. And that's even if you happen to have that bank account I talked about earlier. I feel that my puppies are bred to a higher standard than most of pups born here in the USA, I'm not talking about show quality, I'm talking about health. If you have had a Yorkie in the past, if it was over 10-15 yrs ago then I'm sure you have noticed that the breed is getting smaller and smaller, and that there is a lot more talk of health problems such as liver shunts and hypoglycemia? In my opinion that is because US breeders are breeding dogs that will "sell" not dogs that are healthy.

So the reason I got my female Maggie from Ireland is because I wanted to have puppies that are HEALTHY, STURDY and HAPPY along with their owners! Maggie weighs 6.5 lbs and Seamus is just under 5 lbs

A few things you should consider BEFORE buying your puppy

1. The most important thing I'd like to say is even if you decide to buy a puppy from another breeder please make sure that they answer ALL your questions. It's important that you feel comfortable with your breeder, that you know the breeder will be there not just for a week after you get your puppy home but WHENEVER you have a question or concern, even if it is 10 yrs later and your question is regarding what to feed your senior dog!

2. One thing I have noticed lately is that a lot of breeders are selling their puppies with "limited" registration. They claim that is because they want to control the population. Now, I'm sure that some of these breeders really do have the best interest of the breed in mind BUT why then are they charging the same amount of money for their puppies? Again this is only my opinion but when I was breeding Yorkies back in the days of no internet (YES there was a time that there was no internet! haha) I don't EVER remember seeing a breeder limited registration. What I think happened is this... With the internet came a lot of competition, meaning if a breeder sells you a puppy and you inturn decide to breed your dog YOU become the competition! On the same subject I have also seen a lot of home breeder or "hobby" breeder bashing, again only since the internet became so popular. Personally I would rather get my puppy from a home breeder where the puppy has been raised in a loving home environment! A puppy that has been well socialized. Our puppies are a part of our family, they are loved and cuddled by my kids, grandkids and everyone else that come to our home.

Look at the photo below... at first glance you might think it is a photo of a mom and her pups... but it isn't it is actually Seamus, the dad! Our dogs have amazing and loving personalities! How often is it that you see a male dog taking care of his pups???

Now I don't know if that is for everyone such as a person that wants a puppy to show. I don't know what kind of personality a dog needs to be "shown" I have never and would never consider "showing" my dogs, Just as I would never put my kids in a beauty pageant...I know my dogs are beautiful! I don't need a judge to tell me that.

With all that being said I really hope you do choose me to be your breeder, but like I said earlier even if you don't please be careful who you DO choose.

We accept PayPal and can work with you to make a payment plan that you are comfortable with.

Our puppy prices are $1000 for males and $1500 for females. There may be exceptions to these prices.

Our puppies are Vet checked and receive at least their first set of shots, worming, we dock our puppies tails in the first week along with dew claw removal. Anyone that does not what either of the last two procedures done must have their puppy PAID IN FULL before the pup is 2 days old.

We do accept deposits on unborn puppies and we guarantee you a puppy or we will return your deposit.

In order to hold a puppy we do require a $200 deposit.

Pick of the litter will be given in the order which deposits are made.

We don't have any puppies right now but if you are interested you can email me and I will add you to my mailing list.

You don't need to give me a deposit to be on the list, it just means that when I find out that we are going to have a new litter I will send you an email to let you know.

My email is Info@celticprideyorkies.com

Seamus & Maggie doing what they do best....

Meet the newest member of our clan!

Teagan is my new baby girl!

Teagan is a Gaelic word that means beautifull.... and she is!!!

If you have a minute be sure to read Teagans story on our homepage,

she is the best example of why I breed!!

You can read more about it here...

http://www.celticprideyorkies.com/nursery.htm

Teagan At 7 months old and weighs 4.6 lbs!

Here are a few new pictures of the The Celtic Pride Clan!

Teagan is down in front, Maggie is on the chaise with flower hat and Seamus is in the top hat.

hmmm who does Seamus look like in this picture????
